Decision Summary

 
On 23 October 2024, the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority (the Authority) decided to cancel the registration of Registered Migration Agent (RMA), Mr Longfei Gao (MARN 2217765).

The Authority is satisfied that:
• The RMA’s application for registration was known by the agent to be false or misleading in a material particular; and
• The RMA is not a person of integrity, or is otherwise not a fit and proper person to give immigration assistance; and
• The RMA breached his obligations under section 13(1), 13(2), 15, 17, 18, 32(3)(c), 41(1) of the current Code and clause 2.1 and 2.23 of the former Code.

The Authority found that the RMA:
• Provided and charged for immigration assistance prior to becoming an RMA
• Failed to notify the Department that they had provided immigration assistance
• Knowingly made a false or misleading statements to the Authority
• Did not comply with migration law and his duty to not undermine migration law
• Produced a fraudulent departmental letter
• Gave his client a document that he knew was false or misleading
• Did not act professionally, ethically and with integrity
• Damaged the reputation of the migration agents or immigration advice industry
